WHAT IS WIRED NETWORK SERVICE?
Wired Network Services are delivered via an extensive physical network infrastructure deployed throughout the UW campus. Typically, departments access this service by plugging their network devices into an activated data wall port within their building.
Optical Network
Optical networking is a means of communication that uses signals encoded onto light to transmit information among various nodes of a telecommunications network.
Copper Network
With the change of informatic proprietary systems to open systems, were created the conditions for the change of proprietary cable systems to open systems of common use, arising then the concept of structured cabling network.
